Tankas
As an April Fool's prank, here are three poems instead of one
i. Warfare
Fall of forgiveness
On your razor-sharp canines,
I wake up to see
Your indelible hunger
for flesh has devoured you whole
ii. Circling
You ferry across
as I swim through the whole sky
collecting the clouds.
The peace offering that you
send my way, melts into air
iii. Sunset
The pink horizon
face-to-face with my full moon
Borrowing colours
From each other, before they
melt away into the clouds

The prompt for day 1 of National/Global Poetry Writing Month is Tanka, described on the source site as “an ancient Japanese poetic form. In contemporary English versions, it often takes the shape of a five-line poem with a 5 / 7 / 5 / 7 / 7 syllable-count.” I had too much fun with this form, so here are 3 poems. Totally unsolicited.
